Quest II: A delicious disappointment

A mid-range price for a slap-in-the-face-sized kebab. Taipei has over 50 Michelin restaurants and a global mind for food and cocktails, but some imported establishments can fail to replicate overseas quality and presentation. I had high hopes for this one as it boasted a 4.6/5 on UberEats with ample reviews.

Unfortunately, it failed to live up to even modest expectations. It is difficult not to jest upon its arrival. The paper which encased the kebab had its own weight. Undressing the kebab left me astonished at its lack of size. Pleasant aroma with an unimposing display.

I believe it would have been possible to devour this adolescent kebab in two or three gobbles. The imitation wrap had a wonderful first bite with a near perfect golden-ratio… how could it not when it is half-empty and easy to mix? The juices also were mixed well- just not enough of…. anything inside. The taste was adequate all things considered.

There is an opportunity for a quality kebab shop in Taipei and someone will take advantage of this disadvantage of living in Taipei. It could be the Kebab Seeker, or it could be you, kind stranger. One thing is for certain - Taipei is in dire need of kebab assistance and it must be swiftly provided.
