The Chronicle

At first glance, this hefty kebab appears to be a monster of value. The first bite was met with a ‘golden ratio’ ratio explosion that blended all of the ingredients well. After the first couple of bites, the honeymoon phase quickly wore off. The sauce was confined to certain areas, the vegetables in another sliver, and the meat stood alone in order quarters to defend against the hunger onslaught.

I found myself attempting to snag a larger mouthful to get a more balanced fusion of flavor. Alas, the dispersion of ingredients was too sporadic for this to make sense; I’d need to eat it all in one bite which would be impossible.

The sauce stood out- I got garlic with a splash of hot sauce. In Poland, these can be wildly different flavors and strength. Some are more true to the ‘spice’ while others are holding back for the local populace. Understandable. But on my quest, when I order spicy, I expect spicy. The garlic sauce was delicious, and the meat was juicy which added a pleasant “not-dry” feeling to each bite and likely was carrying at least some of the taste and spread of ingredients.

I paid about $14 usd for this kebab. A little overpriced for the quality, decent value for the amount of food but nothing to send a carrier pigeon to my village about.

If I were about to embark on a quest to slay a dragon, there are other kebabs in Lodz I’d want to be my last meal.
